I'm late on this post, but our little Henry turned one on May 5th! Time is flying and he is getting too big too fast. We haven't taken him to the doctor yet, what with all the cross country moving again, so I'm not sure how big he is.
He hasn't decided to walk yet, but that is probably partly my fault for babying him and holding him all the time, and Clarkie's for pushing him down on occasion. He will find anything his height to push around the house, but no walking on his own yet. He's getting so big, I'm now ready for him to walk, hopefully it will be soon! Clarkie walked the day he turned 10 months, so this seems so late to us.
Henry absolutely refuses to let anyone feed him anything. He also insists on having a fork or spoon in his hand, even if he's just eating finger food. It's the one area that he is absolutely bent on being independent.
He still needs about 3 hours of nap during the day, sometimes broken up, sometimes all at once. I've been trying to balance it so that he sleeps the same time as Clarkie (heaven) but it doesn't always work. He sleeps 12 hours a night, usually waking up once for a bottle in the early morning, but goes right back to sleep.
He loves to jabber away in his little baby talk, which is adorable. So far he says 'Dada' 'Mommm' something that sounds like Clark, kind of a 'kkkaaaakkkk' sound, and 'go!' He picked that up from Clarkie always saying the go! in ready, set, go. He mimicks lots of things we say too.
Henry is so full of personality, I think we are going to have our hands full when he turns 2. He loves to throw his bath toys out of the tub, he laughs hysterically every time. He always wants to be where everyone else is, he's happy as long as we're all together. He has six of the funniest teeth ever (see pics) and he smiles with them nonstop. He is our precious little one and I love/hate that he keeps growing. We love him more every day. Happy birthday Henry!
We followed our new tradition of going to the zoo for first birthdays. Henry had fun, and sort of saw the animals. We wish Clark could've come, but it was a busy time for Senator Kyl's lawyers (his bosses), which means busy time for the interns!
Clarkie loved the lions, they have a whole family, daddy lion, two mommy lions and like 6 six cubs.
Digging into a birthday snow cone. This was a sticky mess but so much fun it was worth it!
Me and my boys at the elephants.
Henry and his small birthday pile. We moved about two weeks after this, so there was no room for big fun stuff :(. We'll be putting the giftcards to use soon Nana and great aunt Linda!
Henry's birthday cake. Wish I could've made him something other than a sheet cake, but again, the moving...
Ready to dig into some birthday cake. This was the only picture we got with some of Clark in it :) Whoops!
And this was the messiest this kid got. He wouldn't touch the cake til he had a fork like Clarkie, and then all he ate was the frosting off the top. Funny boy!
hey guys!!! is this an old site? I love looking at your pictures. Dad got on another site and saw the dust storm picture from your cousin....and yes it looks like the end of the world.
