We are thrilled that the weather is starting to change out here, it feels like spring! We have been trying to take every opportunity to get outside.
The roof of our apartment complex has a tennis court, basketball court and bbq area, so sometimes we go up there and Clarkie rides his bike and we just hang out. This was the best pic I could get while holding both boys and the camera.
Clarkie enjoying the sunshine
We went downtown to meet Clark for lunch on a nice day, and this was parked outside his office building. I believe it's something the British have built that they are trying to sell to us. They have Clarkie's vote!
This same day we got to witness a huge pro-life protest outside of some liberal Senator's office in the building where Clark works, the Hart building. Outside the planned parenthood people were there doing the same. I think they arrested some people. It was awesome. (Also the same building where the Mayor of DC was protesting and got himself arrested if you heard about that.)
The boys in the Cherry Blossoms. It was so cold the week the blossoms were at their peak that we missed it, but they were still beautiful!
Jefferson Memorial. We walked down here to the Tidal Basin in hopes of seeing more blossoms on the last day of the festival, but they were mostly gone. Stumbled upon the military having an honor guard competition though, which was fun to watch. There was even a fly-by of Coast Guard helicopters.
Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument in the distance, across the tidal basin.
Inside the Jefferson memorial
The Clarks trying to get a better view of the Cherry Blossom Parade. I had to drag Clark to this because he has a strong dislike of parades, but I love all things cheesy. One of the trucks ended up overheating and stopped the whole parade, so we left, which made Clark very happy.
The boys enjoying a day at the park. This park is home to a bunch of old toys that people just leave there when they don't want them anymore. It is Clarkie's heaven!
Trip to the National Zoo on Monday 4/11; there was an entire family of gorillas in this area, the big Daddy gorilla is the one in the picture. I could not get both boys to look at the same time, so you get to see two gorilla pics!
Notice the sign, then notice my child's hand about to start banging away...
Elephants, Clarkie's favorite since there were no giraffes.
LOVE this picture!
We did an animal ABC search through the zoo, and planned to see the zebras last. They were a great way to end a great day at the zoo!
